Good food, good service, relaxing atmosphere.
First trip - We weren't sure about stopping in Mayhill but so glad we did. It is the perfect embodiment of a small town cafe. Friendly people, good music, and hearty, fresh food. We will stop by again.

Nice cafe with good food and atmosphere. Waitress was terrible today. Hate to complain. Went for lunch today with nobody at restaurant. Tried to put us at small table for two next to the kitchen door. We asked for a bigger table and was told she hated to waste a table for four on two people in case they had a big lunch crowd. Actually we think she was cranky and having a bad day. Our festive mood for lunch was ruined. We left and will most likely not return. To many other options with Cloudcroft, Ruidoso and Alamogordo! Update - I don't know which trip was a fluke but I am not interested in going back to find out. The fries were greasy and grossly under cooked. We also did not receive good service.
I would drive from Alamogordo to The Mayhill Café for the Ruben. They were always friendly and kind. I enjoyed the drive up there and was never disappointed then I arrived.
